The Real Estate Council of Alberta is the licensing body for real estate professionals and provides the courses and exams required to obtain a real estate license.
For information on requirements, the licensing process and costs visit reca.ca.
The broker at Sutton was a qualified instructor with the Alberta Real Estate Association when they offered the licensing courses and can provide insight and assistance in the course.
The licensing course does not provide information on marketing and developing your career once you are licensed, that is responsibility of the brokerages. That is why we have partnered with Richard Robbins International, one of Canada's top real estate training companies, so we can provide you with on going training at a reasonable cost. You are not only able to take courses on line, but you have access to the materials that top agents, being coached by RRI, use to succeed in their business.
This is not a one time course, that goes for a week and costs $ 1000.00+, but an on going and continuous education with support from the Broker and Associate Broker at Sutton along with assistance from people at Richard Robbins International and costs less than $ 1000.00 a year.
On the RECA site you will notice that a criminal record check is required. This is a full criminal record check which requires finger prints be sent to Ottawa. You should arrange for this when you will have the course completed in the next 3 months.
Once you have completed the course and are looking for a Brokerage make sure they offer ongoing training in the following areas.
